LUCRATIVE USE OF SURPLUS BATTERY CAPACITY

The direct marketer interface enables the facility operator to offer their electricity through a marketer. This is much more lucrative than the feed-in tariff and is compulsory e.g. in Germany from an installed capacity of 100 kW.

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Cost savings, since demand is covered by the storage system
  • Earn money through direct marketing
  • Doesn’t require a great deal of effort or high investment costs
  •

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The VAS Energy Manager can communicate with the remote control unit of the virtual power plant (e.g., next-Kraftwerk). All the relevant data is transmitted to this power plant’s interface in real-time, allowing it to act as a marketer and, for example, regulate the output.

BACKGROUND

In the case of direct marketing, electricity generated from renewable energy installations is no longer remunerated through feed-in tariffs. Instead, it is marketed on the power exchange by a direct marketer. This can generate attractive additional revenue. Direct marketing is even mandatory for new installations with an installed capacity of 100 kW or more and put into operation in Germany after January 1, 2016.
